There is a local farmers market at the ”Weihnachtschützenplatz” central square every Friday at 8-12.

There are many little shops in the town of Berchtesgaden. Most of the shops are open from Monday to Friday at 9-18 and Saturdays at 9-16. Shops are closed on Sundays, but many cafes and restaurants stay open.

Designer Outlet Salzburg is right next to the airport. There are other big shopping malls nearby, only 20 minutes away from Berchtesgaden.

CAFES AND RESTAURANTS

Within a walking distance from Burmesterhaus, there are plenty of good restaurants. One of the oldest ones is the brewery of Berchtesgaden that has been making beer since 1645. The restaurant at the brewery is called “Hofbräuhaus Bräustüberl”.

There are surprisingly many restaurants in the town. You can find anything from traditional Bavarian restaurants to Italian, Greek, Asian and Indian restaurants. For a healthier treat, there is a well-known German vegetarian restaurant right opposite to Burmesterhaus, which offers amazing dinners and great brunches. There are also many cafes and bakeries serving oven fresh bread, delicious cakes and other sweets. Just ask us for any restaurant recommendations and we will for sure find something that you’ll like!
