Mountain weather can be unpredictable, but don't worry! In case of bad weather, there is still enough to do and experience.

SALT MINE

Salt mine of Berchtesgaden has been operating already over 500 years. You can explore the mine with a guided tour about salt and salt mining or attend a relaxation in a special salt pond room, Salzheilstollen.

SPA

Spa Watzmann Therme is open daily from 10 am to 10 pm. There are many different pools including an outside pool as well as five saunas.

NATIONAL PARK CENTER

National Park Center, Haus der Berge hosts exhibits about the national park and the alpine nature. Exhibits are open daily from 9 am to 5 pm. There are also temporary exhibits as well as an auditorium, where short nature films from the area are played, for example four seasons in the Berchtesgaden national park.

CLIMBING CENTER

The first indoor climbing center in Germany is located in Strub, at a training center for alpine jaegers. The center organizes climbing courses or you can go practice by yourself.

ICE RINK

Ice rink in Berchtesgaden is open from October to April. You can rent skates at the ice rink during the public skating hours. During winter holidays curling is also organized.

BOWLING HALL

Bowling center Alpenbowling is located at the Berchtesgaden train station. It is open daily.

GYM

At the train station’s new ShapeUp gym you can workout in any kind of weather.
